Mark Diamond and Helen Mariss take 2022 NT Mixed Pairs Title
Last weekend Mark Diamond (Darwin) and Helen Mariss (Nightcliff) defeat Peter Wibberley and Elisa Rigoni (Both Darwin) in a high standard final that saw both teams fight to the end under the cover at Darwin Bowls Club.
It was only in the second last end when Diamond and Mariss were able to create a 4 shot lead. Prior to this the gap between the two teams kept to 1 or 2 shots.
The semi finals also saw some great shootouts with Diamond and Mariss overcoming Marty Garnett (Darwin) and Bronwyn Hagger (Katherine) 17/16 despite Garnett and Hagger having a big lead early in the match.
In the other semi final Wibberley and Rigoni defeated Mark Hall and Pam Beaumont 18/8. This was also a highly fought game with the score not reflecting the standard from both teams.
