PLAYER CLEARANCES

  • If you have been a full member at an NT club or interstate club within the preceding two years, your new club will need to request a transfer from your old club via Bowlslink.
  • If you are moving to or from interstate, you will also be required to complete an Interstate Clearance.

See below for more details and to start the process.

An intrastate clearance is from one Northern Territory club to another.

  1. When you join and pay your membership at your new club you should provide your email address, mobile number, and your Bowlslink ID number if you know it.
  2. This will enable your new club to request a transfer.

If you intend on playing Pennant for a club other than your nominated Primary Club, you will need to complete a NT Pennant Declaration and send the declaration to the club secretary from your Primary Club. Your Club Secretary will then sign and forward the declaration to the Executive Officer of Bowls NT for approval prior to playing any Pennant matches. The Executive Officer will notify your new club of the approval once completed.

There is no payment required in the Northern Territory for clearances between clubs.

If you are looking to complete an interstate clearance to either join a bowling club in the Northern Territory or one outside of the Territory, you need to complete the following:

If transferring from interstate to a Northern Territory club, please:

  1. Fill out the attached form and send it to the State governing body from which you are transferring from (ie Bowls Vic, Bowls WA etc)
  2. That State governing body will then send a copy to Bowls NT once they have approved.
  3. Bowls NT will then update your details on Bowlslink, and notify your new club

If you are looking at transfer out of a Northern Territory club to an interstate club, please:

  1. Fill out the attached form and send it to Bowls NT via admin@bowlsnt.com.au
  2. Bowls NT will approve the clearance out of Northern Territory and send a copy to the State governing body you wish to join for approval.
  3. The State governing body will then update your details on Bowlslink (if applicable)

If you have any questions about the clearance process, feel free to give us a call on 0423 619 879 or email admin@bowlsnt.com.au

As a club administrator, what do you need to do regarding Clearances?

No matter if the member is moving to your club or from your club, there are a few things you need to do both on Bowlslink and on paper, to support your member (past or future) with their movements.

1. Be aware of the correct process so that you can explain if anyone has any questions.

2. If the player is maintaining their membership at their existing (old) club, the players new club should “Invite” the new player by using Bowlslink.

3. If the player is leaving their old club and transferring, then the new club should “Invite and Transfer” the new player by using Bowlslink.

4. Unless the players old club have reasonable grounds to refuse a transfer request, such us unpaid membership fees, previous breach of club policies, the invitation should be approved.

5. Once this is done the players old club and Bowls NT will approve the transfer on Bowlslink after they have received the email notification from Bowlslink. – As a result, you will receive a couple of emails from Bowlslink (check your junk or spam boxes if they don’t arrive in your inbox).

Use this communication as confirmation of the transfer. The member will also receive the same communication if their current email is up to date on Bowlslink.

6. The member will then need to be made financial to the club and then added to any groups/categories within the club.

The member is ineligible to play in Club or Territory Championships or Pennant until this process has been completed.

New club

If the member is transferring into your club from another club, please don’t add them as a new member but as an existing member. A ‘member’ on Bowlslink refers to a member on the system and not as a member to your club.

Current club

For the club that the member is leaving, please don’t archive the member until they have transferred to the new club.
