The final round of the Super 9’s saw Nightcliff Black too strong for Darwin Gold but it was not enough for the Tigers to overtake the Buffaloes on the ladder.

The top position was settled after the round 11 matches where Darwin Gold played Katherine which was a must win match for Katherine. Darwin Gold had to win to retain top spot and win the right to host the final. Katherine had to win to stay in the hunt for second spot and a berth in the final.

The result was tight with the pairs match between Paul Rodin and Warren Corowa a close encounter with Katherine’s Barry Beaumont and Peter Wagstaff. Corowa and Rodin won on the last end 17/16 in a fantastic game.

The Triples match was led from the start by Darwin Gold with Trystan Smallacombe skipping and teaming with Barry Orr and Jen Redshaw to gain a strong lead to win 22/13 and providing enough shots for Darwin Gold to win the big board and top spot.
