Nightcliff win 2024 Pennant in nailbiter final
Nightcliff win both Div. 1 and Div. 2 Pennant Flags
Congratulations to the Nightcliff Bowls Club Tigers who took out the 2024 BNT Pennant in a final that went to the last bowl. After a strong start and leading all day, Nightcliff won by 1 shot after Darwin kept up the pressure and clawed back a 10-shot deficit to go into the last end 57 shots all.
Adam Hollingworth’s side played Peter Wibberley’s side for the match that turned into a sudden death playoff on the final end. Tony Sullivan showed his class by dead drawing on his first bowl and piled the pressure on the Buffaloes as they tried in vain to move the kitty on the undercover green at Darwin.
The final result was Tigers 58, and Buffs 57.
The Division 2 Final was also an exciting affair with Nightcliff coming from behind to overtake the Darwin Salties winning 39 shots to 33.
