Congratulations to Trystan Smallacombe & Greg Wetzler on winning Silver at the 2023 National Championships
Trystan Smallacombe and Greg Wetzler (both Darwin Bowls & Social Club) put the NT on the front stage by winning silver in the Men’s Pairs. Smallacombe then followed this up by a narrow loss in the Men’s singles final against current Jackaroo Cody Packer to win the silver and his second medal of the event.
Smallacombe and Wetzler took on NSW’s Gary Kelly and current Australian Jackaroo Corey Wedlock in the final at Joondalup Bowls Club and were in the hunt for gold with the game neck and neck until the final couple of ends, finally conceding 16/13.
The Men’s Singles final was also a thrilling affair with Smallacombe and WA’s Cody Packer being level at 18 all before Packer was able to draw away and win the match 25/19.
