2021 NT Singles Champion of Champions
The 2021 Champion of Champions event, hosted by the Nightcliff Bowls Club was contested by representatives from 4 clubs from across the Northern Territory with some great matches contested to determine our representative in the Australian Champion of Champions scheduled for later this year.
Players included: Margaret Wallace and Bruce Fyfe (Alice SpringsGolf), Sez James and Mark Diamond (Darwin BC), Mark Malogorski (Nightcliff BC), and Bronwyn Hagger and Mal Trattles (Katherine BC).
Sez James proved too strong for the Ladies section, winning both matches to take out her first Champion of Champions title. Sez has had a remarkable year winning the NT State Singles title earlier this year as well as the Darwin Bowls Club Singles Championship. Sez has also been selected to represent the Northern Territory at the State Sides Championships later this year.
Margaret Wallace travelled up from Alice Springs to contest her first Champion of Champions event, playing on synthetic grass for the first time, providing some great experience for her. Bronwyn Hagger (Katherine) is one of our most experienced players previously winning this event in 2020 and was runner up to Sez James in this year’s State Singles Championships.
Mark Malogorski went though undefeated to take his second title. The first was in 2018. Bruce Fyfe had a great tournament winning 2 of his 3 matches but Malogorski was too strong in the final match winning 21/11 to finish on top of the Men’s group ladder.
