Farewell Faye Luke
On behalf of all the Northern Territory lawn bowls community, our hearts go out to Trevor and the Luke family on the passing of Faye. Faye (Darls) was much loved by the NT Bowls community, from Alice Springs through to the top end of the Territory. Faye commenced coaching the Northern Territory side from 2013 where she was heavily involved with Tony Shelley at the Australian Sides Championships in Bendigo right through to Darwin in 2018. There is no doubt her enthusiasm and positiveness made a huge impact of lawn bowls in the NT. Faye was heavily involved with the Northern Territory National Training Centre, (NTC) program that produced many successful Territory bowlers that included Colleen Orr who represented Australia in 2018 world Champion of Champions in St John’s Park, Sydney.
Faye was also involved with bringing former Australian Jackaroos coach Steve Glasson to the Northern Territory and developing lawn bowls further.
We will miss you Darls, but you will never be forgotten in the Northern Territory.
