New national officiating structure is rolling out

Commencing January 1, 2015, the new accreditation process for officials will be introduced to educate participants to perform specific roles, including marker, measurer and national umpire.

The method of facilitation will be consistent nationwide, with an increased focus on on-green activities for participants to practice their craft and greater interaction between participants and assessors during the courses.
Many  STA’s including the Northern Territory, Queensland, Victoria, ACT and South Australia are well underway in training Presenters and Assessors to deliver the new course.

Under the new structure, assessment of umpires will now focus predominately on an individual’s ability to perform the required tasks and measurements on the green, simulating real duties umpires perform on a daily basis, as opposed to the previous system which placed greater importance on written examinations.
If you would like to enquire about how to be part of this exciting new structure and complete the training to become a Marker, Measurer, or National Umpire, call Bowls NT or email us.
