Lee Farrell and Colleen Orr take out 2019 State Singles Championship
Lee Farrell and Colleen Orr both overcame strong fields to take the seasons premier event: the 2019 NT State Singles.
This years State Singles were hosted by the Darwin Bowls and Social Club and saw Lee Farrell (Nightcliff BC) take out his first singles crown beating a strong field on the way with victories over Mark Diamond (Darwin BC) , Mal Trattles (Katherine BC) , and then Ian Smith (Darwin BC) in the final.
Ian Smith beat Barry Orr (Darwin BC) in a tight match in the remaining semi-final before facing Farrell.
Colleen Orr (Darwin BC) won her fourth title in five years after beating Jen Sullivan in the final.
Karen Lane (Nightcliff BC) won through to the semi final to face Colleen Orr, but Orr was too strong. Jen Sullivan (Darwin BC) was able to draw on her experience in the remaining semi-final to win over Anita Rhook (Nightcliff BC) playing in her first state singles final series.
